Prana Yoga: The word ‘yoga’ is derived from the sanskrit word ‘Yuj’. It has been there from ancient times and was performed by yogis ( who perform yoga) to meditate. India is very famous for yoga. It balances the mind and body and helps the person to understand themself nicely. It is basically combined with pranayama and breathing techniques. It helps to create mental clarity and to achieve emotional harmony which reflects in the coordination of thoughts, action, and words. Practicing yoga can help in achieving a stunning personality. Yoga is like an art that helps to connect the body, mind, and soul together. Yoga is really helpful to people of any age group whether a person is 5 years or 80 years, one should practice daily for its maximum benefits. It helps a person to remain fit and healthy. Prana is the essential energy needed by the physical and fine coatings, without which the body would expire.
It is the prana which provides which nutrifies the mind and keeps the body alive. The word ‘prana’ means universal life force ‘ayama’ means working in the dimensions of prana. It creates an atmosphere around the body and it flows through thousands of fine passages called Nadis and energy centers called Chakras. A person’s state of mind can determine the aggregate and standard of prana and the way it flows through nadis and chakras. The people remain in peace, calm, positive, and enthusiastic if the prana level is high and flows in a continuous, steady, and smooth manner. While performing prana if there is a lack of attention and knowledge to a breathing technique can cause partial blockages in the nadis and chakras. Therefore, it leads to a jerky and brokes the flow of prana. This results in increasing negative thoughts like worries, fear, tension, callous, compulsive, and many more. Practicing prana (breathing exercise) can help in drastic changes in the life of the people.
By performing Pranayama one can increase the quality and quantity of the energy level. Other than this it has many other benefits like it makes a person calmer, energetic, and positive. Pranayama also clears the blocked nadis and chakras, by expanding the atmosphere and heightening the spirit. It also helps a person to express in a better and correct manner. In addition, It helps a person to understand others. That’s the reason why pranayama and meditation is necessary in life. Types of Prana Yoga
There are various types of pranayama which help really in a better manner like Bhramari Pranayama (bee breath), kapal bhati Pranayama (skull shining breathing technique), Nadi Shodhan Pranayam (alternate nostril breathing technique), Bhastrika Pranayama (bellows breath).
- Bhramari pranayama (bee breath) – This is a type of pranayam which helps to break the buzzing mind. It is a type of breathing technique that acts as a boon to the people who suffer from hypertension.
- Kapal Bhati pranayama (skull shining breathing technique) – Among all the breathing techniques kapal bhati pranayama (skull shining breathing technique) is the most important breathing technique which is performed by the people to detoxify the body and also helps in clearing the channels.
- Bhastrika Pranayama (bellows breath) – If a person is feeling low on energy can do three rounds of bhastrika pranayama (bellows breath). It will help the people to get the energy level a wing.
- Nadi Shodhan Pranayama (alternate nostril breathing technique) – If a person is not able to concentrate on the work then they should practice the nine rounds of nadi shodhan pranayama (alternate nostril breathing technique ) with 10 minutes of meditation. It helps in increasing the concentration by keeping the mind calm and creates harmony between the hemispheres of the brain by keeping the mind at the center. So a person should practice this pranayama which helps to remain positive in life.
Pranayama should be practiced daily as it is helpful in many ways like keeping calm, positive, and improving intelligence but it should be practiced by a certified yoga practitioner as it deals with the subtle life forces. By experimenting with these breathing techniques can be harmful. So it is advisable not to experiment with these pranayamas (breathing techniques). Practicing Prana Yoga (pranayama) can help to develop the body and mind, but it is not a substitute of medicine. It is very essential to practice this yoga under great supervision and should consult a doctor before practicing yoga. It balances the body, mind, and soul of a human.
